A little about me

To paraphrase the Irish poet Donagh McDonogh...

"Dublin made me… the Dublin of old statues, this arrogant city stirs proudly and secretly in my blood."

There are also lots of other places that have made me too. Italy was my first port of call where I stayed for 4 years, New York was home for 13 and now London for the past 8.

I’ve had many, many jobs beginning in my father’s pub in Dublin which possibly was the foundation for a career in journalism. People, stories, the latest news all with some wonderful wit and warmth. When I visit the pub now, some of the same people are still there 40 years later... still telling stories.

I’ve also been an ice cream server, a handbag seller, a cocktail waitress, an English teacher but nothing fit me as well as being a journalist. I’m lucky to have found a career that allows me to indulge my wanderlust and love of stories and people covering the news in Asia, Africa, Europe, the United States and Latin America.

What I strive to bring to whatever job is at hand is warmth, compassion, editorial judgement and a strong known personality accomplished on TV and radio and who is ready to have fun along the way too and bring a social media audience with me too.
